ISLAND'OWNED
PHILADELPHIA -- Simon Gagne's power-play goal with 6:06 remaining capped a three-goal Flyers rally and lifted Philadelphia to a 3-2 victory against the visiting New York Islanders on Tuesday night at the Wachovia Center.
Claude Giroux had a goal and an assist, and Jeff Carter scored his ninth goal in his last nine games as the Flyers extended their dominance over the Islanders to 15 straight games, including 10 in a row in Philadelphia. The 15 consecutive victories are the most by one team over another since Boston won its first 17 games against the expansion Ottawa Senators from 1992-95.
John Tavares and Kyle Okposo scored, and Bruno Gervais had a pair of assists, who lost for the 12th time in 15 games and the eighth consecutive time on the road.

MAPLE QUEEFS
PHILADELPHIA (AP) -Simon Gagne yelled. Dan Carcillo reacted.
With time winding down in the second period, Carcillo flipped a backhand pass that Gagne deposited into the top left corner of the net.
The goal, and another by Danny Briere 1:16 later, broke a tie in the Flyers' 3-1 victory over the Toronto Maple Leafs on Sunday night.
"It's tough to give a player like that a bad pass," Carcillo said. "He's been good all year and has been getting hot of late. He's a world-class player and it showed."
Michael Leighton also helped the Flyers to the win, making 27 saves.
In the 1:16 between Gagne's and Briere's goals, Carcillo appeared to score another goal for Philadelphia, but was ruled offside. Briere's insurance goal came with 1:35 left in the period, when he stopped... [Read More]

SABRE-STRUCK
BUFFALO, N.Y. (AP) -Adam Mair was glad to help Tim Connolly gain some redemption from an earlier gaffe.
Mair sent the game into overtime just under 3 minutes after Connolly's costly turnover ended up in Buffalo's net, and Connolly scored at 2:31 of overtime in Buffalo's 3-2 victory over the Philadelphia Flyers on Friday night.
Connolly eventually was able to make for his error that occurred with just under 9 minutes to go in the third when his errant pass at the Buffalo blue line was picked off by Philadelphia captain Mike Richards. Richards skated in alone on goalie Ryan Miller, and lifted a backhander in after a nifty deke to give the Flyers a 2-1 edge.
Connolly, though, gave the Sabres the bonus point in overtime when he put home a rebound from in tight off Toni Lydman's shot from the left... [Read More]
