The team we needed to show up went away when our fearless leader decided to implement the infamous "dump and dump" routine after the first period, where we relentlessly shoot the puck down the ice and refuse to chase it.

No way do we go in and have a chance at making anything happen tommorrow in DC if we come out the way we did today. No chance.

We're going to get smoked. Hard. Ovy's getting his confidence back, the crowd's going to be wild (by DC standards, albeit), and we're constantly playing on our heels.

We've lost three straight, I think it's safe to say the momentum has shifted, and I don't see us coming out as hard as we need to.

I hope I'm back tommorrow around this time to eat my words, with my team heading to the second round, but I just don't see it happening.

That being said, we had better pull something out of our asses.

Ugh.

I just don't get it with this team. It seems like there are two completely different teams at times. They can look really good at times, and everything is clicking (like Game 3.) Then there is the Team that played in Game 1, tonight, and numerous other times during the regular season. They'll get a lead, and then all of a sudden it turns to dump and chase, well chasing seems to be optional at times. Almost every time that they've sat back , it's end up costing them the game. One would think that this wouldn't happen on a consistent basis. But it's happened time and time again. Something's gotta change.

Can't say I'm surprised that Ovy found it tonight. Can't hold a guy like him down forever. Carter, Richards, Timo, Coburn have done an excellent job on him so far.

This is all to similar to 2000 against New Jersey in the conference final. Hopefully this one turns out differently.

So finally someone has said what I've been thinking the whole time. I new to this forum, and before this I havent had anyone agree on this with me. But that dumping the puck shit is bullshit!!! Drives me crazy! I dont think its John Stevens, but I dont know who or what to blame it on. I just hope they pull out all the stops tonight cause they need to realize what a roller coaster ride they are putting thier fans through!! I KNOW they can play better then that! The Caps dont deserve to go to the next round! They will get creamed by whatever team the go up against next whereas Philly might actually have a chance if they can do it without choking!!!
