Default Interesting Stats from the Flyers v. Habs series

I found it funny how all of the commentators on the national broadcasts talked about the Habs dominance in the series. That the Flyers were lucky to win, etc., etc., .

So I did a little research on the games. The Canadiens actually only had the lead for a total of 29:39 (29:40 if you give a second to the overtime victory) for the entire series. All of it coming in game 5. This is less than a period and a half of holding the lead over the Flyers. While the Flyers held the lead for a total of 166:47. This is the equivalent of 2 games and two periods. In every game the Flyers held the lead for more than a period of hockey except for game 5. Here is the breakdown for each game.

1 - 42:10
2 - 54:07
3 - 32:56
4 - 29:27
5 - 08:07

This is a dominating performance against one of the best offensive teams in the NHL this season. I think that the commentators need to take notice of how well the Flyers played and this is a good sign for the next series.

Thought I would share a little insight to how I have been feeling every night I hear about the Habs are playing so well and then to hear Guy say that they are playing so well. I call bullsh*t. That is getting your a** handed to you in a series and the better team won.

Remember, it was "Canada's Team" so of course the media will be riding them. That and of course, the Flyers are hated everywhere.

Hi guys, this is my my first post on this forum.

First, let me say that I am living in Montreal, Quebec, home of the 'overated' Montreal Canadiens. I am a Flyers fans since I'm 6 or 7 (I am now 31). Also, I may make some writting mistakes since yes.... I'm French.

Bu hey, can you imagine the blast I have since last week? All those Habs fans that have nothing else to say than 'you guys are lucky'. When they took the lead of the series 1-0, my desk at work was decorate with CH stickers. Can you imagine how proud I was when they won the 4 games after. BTW, thanks Skeeter for giving those numbers. I will now have some numbers for backing up the fact they were not lucky, simply better.

Finally, let me say that yes, Canadian broadcasters are full of cr.., always saying that Marty was good, but very lucky. And yes, canadians fans always have in mind that Americans don't know hockey. Again, they are full of cr.. too, and this is what I'm tellng them since last week. Their answer to that?: You were lucky..wra wra wra...

It's really funny.

Let's go Flyers!

Welcome to the HIVE Mathieu! Glad to see you on board with us. It's not too often that we see a Flyers fan from Montreal on here.

Excuses, excuses, excuses I say to the naysayers. They just can't admit that they were beaten by a better, hungrier team.
