Post Game Report: Vs Thrashers 2/21 Another win almost slipped away from the grasp of the Philadelphia Flyers today at the Wachovia Center. A 5:00 major penalty was credited with the majority of the Flyers goal as they had an early 3-0 lead with the major man advantage. Those three goals proved to be the difference makers throughout the game. Even though, the Flyers gave up three unanswered goals, that powerplay was the turning point in the game. Burke has not had a great start with the Flyers. Giving up, I don't remember the exact numbers, I believe it was something like 15 goals in his first few games as a Flyers. Not very impressive if you ask me. But, we must look at the teams that we've been facing for the past week or so. Teams like Boston,Tampa Bay,Atlanta. These tough matchups won't stop anytime soon either. We've got road games coming up in Boston,Ottawa, and Detroit. Three tough teams that we may be able to knock off. I'm just not sure how we will though. If Sean Burke can step it up a notch we may have a chance. If not, we could be in for a long week.
- Simon Gagne's penalty shot GWG was AMAZING. The way he interpreted the moves of the netminder was great. He is a true asset to the team. Some say that he's been slacking, he's getting back to his original form I say.
- Roenick was scheduled to take an MRI on a brain stem today. I read an article in one of the papers today reporting that he said "I'm just not feeling better,I'm worse. Every day that goes by, it's the same thing". These aren't good signs for our exciting centerman. I hope he gets better in time for a playoff return. I just want him back.
