Post Game HIVE Thanks You!
Well, today's win against the Buffalo Sabres ended our disappointingly tumultuous season as fans of the Philadelphia Flyers. Another season began with such high expectations, but we quickly realized that there was a certain rebuilding feel to this year, one we've grown to somewhat accept and look towards the future.
With the season complete, another successful year of Post Game HIVE is in the books. However, this column will have a different look in 2007-2008, as I'm stepping down from my position as the post-game reporter after three years. I thought about this after last season, when I started working and other factors began to play into my free time. This season, as many of you may have noticed, my personal reports have been few and far in between during the second half of the season. I'd rather have someone take this position that's able to put together in-depth reports night in, and night out, similar to what I've done for the majority of my time as the post game man.
I'm not leaving the HIVE in any form, in fact, I'm looking to expand my abilities and help make this place an even bigger and better beacon for Flyers fans across the map. After speaking with Drew, I've made the decision to start work on a new column entitled "Inside the Flyers". These weekly to bi-weekly reports will detail anything from team trends, signings, off-the-ice appearances, and even player interviews. I've been able to establish contact with people inside the organization over the last few months, and I hope to use them accordingly to gather exclusive information and content for our community. You can look forward to the first ITF reports sometime around early to mid-summer, when the free agency market is red-hot.
I'd like to thank Drew and the HIVE administration for the opportunity to bring everyone post-game reports over the last few seasons, it's been alot of fun, and also for the chance to continue as a HIVE columnist with the aforementioned details. To everyone that's read and added to my reports, thank you, there's nothing like putting ideas and opinions together in a common forum, and I hope my reports have provided that for all of you.
With that, my final post-game report is completed. Keep an eye out for "Inside the Flyers", coming soon!
As always, thanks for reading,
Chris Banker
