| Post Game Report: 10/11 Vs Penquins Hey everybody, nothing like a typical Esche performance eh? Well, we started Esche and he looked semi-solid for a bit..but then it all fell apart in the third period as seems to be the trend nowadays. - Robert Esche once again proves that he can't take the starting job by his in-game performance
- Scoring was good this evening, but we couldv'e used some more goals as the result shows
- Will Hitchcock's system pay off in the end?
- In my humble opinion, Jeff Hackett should recieve the starting position. His in-game play may not turn out spectacular but it'll be better than Esche.
Until Next Game,

| Sorry Chris... The tie wasn't Eschey's fault at all.
The first goal he was screened by a Pen and a Flyer. Never could have saw it. The second goal by Mario, he made two sweet saves on, but not one Flyer was on Mario (which if I were a Flyer, I would have made sure I was all over him). The third one, yes, that was Chicos fault. He stopped instead of going all the way over and hugging the post. This was clearly and breakdown, and the Flyers took stupid penalties, which eventually the Pens are talented enough to put the biscut in the basket. Hack was planning on starting VS San Jose even before this game.

| I think it's good to have two goalies going, you never know if Hackett will get injuried...
But it's not good to blow a 3-0 lead. | | | | Thoresen dropper NHL-spil

| I agree....real weak performance by the Flyers as a whole in the 3rd. You keep gunning for more goals, not sit back and play conservative.
And Hackett SHOULD have gotten the nod in this one.

| Especially to a farm-squad like the Pens... Ridiculous.
This team has NO killer instinct. There is no desire to kick a team when they're down. How many 3rd period leads have we watched disintegrate because the team comes out flat and uninterested in the final frame? If this team doesn't get that killer instinct, I predict that a top 4 seed in the East is way out of our reach and realistically would be looking at a 6-8 seed as a blessing.
Other notes:
- Good to see the special teams going early.
- Great, Big Useless got a point. Now he'll be turning the puck over with bonehead passes that seem brilliant in his own mind and shooting the puck into the corner on open nets. Great.
- After the first two games, Hack holds the lead in the race for the starting job. I'd like them both to see more action and see who the team rallies around during the game and who the team abandons. So far, it looks like Esche was deserted last night. I guess once you've been a Flyers goalie for a year, you've earned the right to have the team collapse around you during the game. | | | | Newbee Join Date: Aug 2003 Posts: 15

| You hit the nail on the head, Chris.
Just start Hackett. Esche is, and will ever be, a backup at best. | | | | | |
