Ladies and Gentlemen, welcome to the new NHL, and say hello to your comeback kids, the Philadelphia Flyers. Joni Pitkanen proved himself worthy of the first start tonight, scoring the game tying, and game winning goal in overtime in tonight's 4-3 OT win against conference foe Boston.

Peter Forsberg recorded points on some key goals in tonight's game, as he continues to tear up the scoresheet, and Simon Gagne continued his scoring streak here early in the season with a goal tonight at the Wachovia Center.

I will admit, I was not entirely confident that the Flyers were going to be able to make up a two-goal deficit with the time remaining in the game, about four minutes left in regulation. Gagne's tally put the Flyers back in the game, and Pitkanen tied it with just thirty seconds to go in the game.

About midway through the overtime period, Joni Pitkanen's hard work in the crease paid off with a game-winning goal, his second of the game. Where did this scoring touch come from? Hopefully it will continue in the coming weeks.

This is the new NHL, folks. No game is in the bag until the final buzzer sounds, Philadelphia fans realized that tonight with the Flyers' dramatic win.

The Flyers will next host the New York Islanders on Thursday at the Wachovia Center, an arena that has hosted seven straight home wins.

Freakin' OLN cut out for Joni's 3rd period goal.

God dammit.

Anyway, LET'S GO FLYERS!

Great comeback victory, and it's nice to see the Flyers turn it on so late in a desperate situation. A big defensive lapse there by Boston, and a big switch turned on for the offense = a Philly win.

Joni has really impressed me so far this season.

And about OLN - Kenny Albert needs to get the goddamn marbles out of his mouth. He's so bad at announcing hockey. He'd be better off annoucning a goddamn dog show.

OLN just sucks. They can't even get an in-between periods interview right with sound. I've seen high school productions better than this crap.

good come back win, hopefully being down by two or more goals does not happen alot. but it is always good to know that you can come back to win games.
