The Flyers have completed their NHL preseason schedule with a 4-2 loss to the New York Islanders on Thursday night. The scoring was once again shutout until late in the first period with a Patrick Sharp powerplay goal at 19:21 to give the Flyers a 1-0 lead after one. The game then took a bad turn for the Flyguys with two Mariusz Czerkawski goals at 4:36 and 13:13 in the second period. In the third, New York struck first with a Mark Parrish goal. The Flyers tried to scave a comback with an Eric Chouinard goal at 15:29 of the final period. But the comeback was denied with an Aaron Asham goal to seal the game. The Flyers will play a game tonight against the Philadelphia Phantoms (AHL) affiliate. A full post game report will be availiable following that game as well.
