The defending Stanley Cup Champions are on the ropes thanks to the Philadelphia Flyers' 3-1 victory in New Jersey tonight. Robert Esche recorded his first career postseason shutout. Flyers captain Keith Primeau continues to be a strong force in this series, he scored a goal tonight. which was his second of these playoffs.
The scoring began early in the first period when Kim Johnsson scored at the 1:18 mark of the period. That would be the only goal in the opening frame of game four. Both goaltenders played good in the second period as both offenses stalled, no goals were scored in the second. Alexi Zhamnov scored a goal with assists from Vladimir Malakhov and Jeremy Roenick nearly five minutes into the third period to give the Flyers a 2-0. The Flyers capped off the scoring with Keith Primeau's goal at 16:02 of the final period, which gave the Flyers the sure win.

Player Of The Game: Robert Esche - Eschey had a great game for the Flyers tonight. And I think that he was a really big factor in tonight's win. He did a great job of making those tough saves when they needed to be made in the second and third periods. He is a big reason why the Flyers are on the verge of eliminating the defending Stanley Cup Champions. GO FLYERS!

good job as always , Glad to see the Fly Boys got the job done tonite , made it home in time for the replay , so I am gonna watch that then add my own comments.


Now tht I have seen the game , I must say , Esche was out of this world in last nites game , the flyers played well for some of the 1st and played thier best hockey and the 3rd , but somehow things got sloopy in the 2nd period but Esche was there all nite long and he was the big differance in the game by far. The Flyers need to come out and play all of game 5 the way they played the 3rd period , was great seein all the Devils fans start to leave once it was 2 - 0

Let's see if they can finish them off Saturday , some rest would be good before the next series
