Post Game HIVE: Vs Islanders 4/4 The Philadelphia Flyers have won the 2004 Atlantic Division Championship. A few things had to go the Flyers way in order for them to accomplish this feat. The Flyers needed the Devils to lose to Boston and needed at least a tie to win the division, those things fell perfectly into place on Sunday afternoon. The Flyers tied the Islanders 3-3, and the Devils were ousted by the Boston Bruins. This is the Flyers' 15th division tittle.
Enough about that, let's preview the series with the New Jersey Devils. The Flyers have had a good season with against their rivals. Home ice advantage should play a pretty big part in the series i think, in the Flyers favor. They seem to be able to win in both New Jersey and Philadelphia against them, as demonstrated this season.
The Flyers were not on top of their game during the first forty minutes of hockey in New York today, only in the third period did I notice a surge of offense and a flurry of defensive power. Robert Esche played better than he has, not giving up long range goals, or fluke shots gone by. A better game is needed to beat the defending Stanley Cup Champions as we begin the cup run.
GO FLYERS!!!
GET CRAZY!!
