Default Will Sidney Crosby win the 2005-06 Calder?

Will Sidney Crosby win the Calder (Rookie of the Year) this season? (For the record, I absolutely refuse to call him "Sid the Kid". What a ridiculous nickname )

If not, who else?

Carter , Richards and Nitty could all make a run at it. but then again, no Flyers player has won this award. I am sure even if all three have great seasons somehow, someway they will be screwed over and Corsby will probably get it just because of his name and hype that has followed him into the NHL

I'm with Jeff. Whether he deserves it or not (which remains to be seen), he'll get it because of the hype.

The way he's playing right now, he's got quite a shot at it. But don't count out Ovechkin, who I think is playing even better than Crosby on the, pardon my French, ****tiest team in the league.

I also think Ovechkin will win it. But then again it's only October.

my vote goes to Ovechkin as well. that kid is playing out of his mind! crosby's got the hype for sure, and not many people have heard of Ovechkin yet...but I think that should be changing really soon.

I'd also love it if Nitty would crank out a few shutouts and have a gaa around 2
not only would he get serious calder looks, there's a great chance that the flyers are getting into the playoffs with a 1 seed after winning the division!
