Default Leetch Rumor Squashed

Clarke came out and basically squashed the trade rumor (http://www.philly.com/mld/philly/spo.../15728987.htm). It appears the Flyers are completely content with giving Jonnson and Picard a shot at some serious playing time (which I am happy about... I really like Picard's game and shot). Besides, I repeat what I've said before.... the last thing this team needs is another over-the-hill dman who is one check away from the long-term injury list.

As for tonight's game, looks like Nitty is getting the call again (whew! cuz Esche has been looking crappy this season).

An update on Rathje:

"Tests on Monday showed that Rathje's lower back has a slight bulging disc, but that there is no nerve impingement where it initially was thought to have existed. The Flyers will not know how long Rathje will be out or whether he can play this season until they know for sure exactly where the nerve is being pinched."

So we'll have to wait to find out his fate.

Awesome. I would ride Nitty the entire season. The team just seems to play so much better in front of him than Esche. That, and I'm sick of Esche's attitude.

Absolutley Drew. Nitty should be in the nets all the time, I think his game is a notch above Chico's. However, I would get Chico out of here if that is the case, as I think his attitude when riding the pine is bad for the room.

Sounds good. I'd like to see what Picard can do, I was impresed with the few games he played last year.

I'm excited to see Picard playing up again. He showed me some things last season.
