| Stevenson's days numbered? A report from spectorshockey.net...
---------------------------------
STEVENSON DONE IN PHILLY?
SPORTSNET.CA: Jim Kelley recently reported the Philadephia Flyers "are going to throw in the towel regarding Turner Stevenson this season." He cites Stevenson is playing through a hip injury that's hampering his performance.
Spector's Note: My thanks to "Tim" for sending this in. If the Flyers are about to dump Stevenson it remains to be seen if the Flyers shop him, attempt to waive him or demotion to the minors. I'd say the latter if the problem is a hip injury.
---------------------------------
If this is true, it could mean that Clarke is gearing up for a blockbuster, especially if Prims bows out for good. I'm interested to see if they'll put Stevenson on IR, trade him or put him on waivers.

| I remember the old Devils Stevenson as a big pain in the a$$ to play against. He was pesky and hard-nosed. He really has had no impact on the club this year with his injuries. Get rid of him if you can! | | | | Mighty Mighty Mick

| We can certainly do without him. I could see Eager taking his place, he's similar but obviously younger and more healthy than Stevenson. He has more of a scoring touch too.

Even in the last couple of games that Brash has played (other then the penalties) he has shown some signs that he is trying to improve his offensive skills. Eager would be a good permanent solution.
I don't think anyone would claim Stevenson with his injury problems. | | | | Let's go Flyers.

| March 9 - Trade deadline, 3 p.m. EST.
Though, I think there is some Olympic break trade freeze.

| I expect Clarke to wait until after the Olympic break to make a deal, if he is making one. Stevenson, will probably be put on waivers, and clear up some cap space | | | | Forum Enforcer, Wallpaper Designer

| I only see a younger team claiming him for the experience. I doubt it though. Good guy though, don't have a problem with him. Just too injury prone...

| A little update on what's been going on with Mr. Stevenson...
(spectorhockey.net)
Hat tip to "Jersey Leaf" for the following on Turner Stevenson: "watching the local Flyers broadcast on Saturday afternoon, either Steve Coates or Gary Dornhoefer made the comment that the Flyers have just discovered Stevenson?s hip problems are a result of one leg being longer than the other (and I?m not pulling your leg, either). They followed up bay saying Stevenson has started wearing lifts in the skate & shoe for his shorter leg, and that it seems to be helping."
How can a man go that many years playing hockey without discovering something like that? Either way, glad to see he's playing better. Hope it's a trend and not fluke.

Hope it's a trend and not fluke. | I have a similar problem where the left side of my body seems to be the dominant side and with playing sports and being athletic it is hard to tell. For example my left bicep, and pectoral muscle are larger then the right. I was a lefty pitcher growing up so I just naturaly thought that my left bicep would be bigger on my throwing arm. My left foot is a size 11 1/2 while my right foot is a size 10 1/2. I was in the miltary for 4 years and it was sometimes painful for me to stand in formation for long periods of time because I think I may have the same problem with my legs. I have come to live with this rather than have some freaky surgery.
