Default Recchi

Several rumors around the league suggest the Flyers are close to getting veteran RW Mark Recchi back from the Penguins.

that was on cbs sportsline rumor site. I wonder what would we give up fo rhim. Think this means Prims might not be doing good

Like I've already mentioned, I would jump on this if I were Clarke. I'd dump either Brashear or Therien, perhaps someone else..?? And I'd send either a 1st or 2nd rounder to the Pens for Recchi. Sure you guys think thats too much, but look at all our young players who are bound to be all stars in the near future. I think we can give up a 2nd round pick with another player to boot for a guy as durable as Recchi. C'mon, the guys a damn pinball out there and plays with more heart than all of the Pens together.

It would help us in the short term here, which is very important. If we want a cup soon, we need to start thinking about some effective secondary scoring. I think Philly's shown that they can play without gagne and forsberg, but in the playoffs its a different story. Recchi has a couple years in him yet.

Another thing too. Recchi probably wants out from such a team like the Pens. Even though he's won a cup there before, I'm sure he didn't expect a season like this. The guy's a winner and I'm sure he would want a cup before he retires. He wouldn't be too expensive now either with the new CBA.

Sorry, just a correction here. I forgot that in the new CBA, a players salary will not go against a team if hes out for the whole season. If Primeau is gone for the rest of the season, the 3.1 million he gets a season is free for Clarke to use.

"Delaware Times"

If Primeau does not return this season, the Flyers will not have his $3.1 million salary count against the cap and therefore would have some wiggle room for a deal or two.

Therefore, if this is true, i say dump Therien anyway, but keep Brashear since we'll have some cap space and pick up Recchi.

34 points in 41 games guys!

I'm very interested to see how this turns out... I'd love to see Recchi back in the orange and black... just worried about the price tag... I think I'd rather have Primeau back than go out and get Recchi... though, I'd take both if we could swing it

Pens may take Bundy, they've been looking to strengthen their blue line. I'm sure they'd want more than just him for Recchi. I wouldn't mind seeing him comeback, I'd like Prims to be back though. He's the core of this team.
