| hard to say , if he does it may not be until near the trade dead line , remeber any deals that are made you have to factor in the cap for both teams and what room they have and who would have to be dealt to make room and so forth

| I'd rather see Roenick back, and not have to get rid of any of our goalie talent. | | | | Section 212

| I actually would not mind seeing Richards go if it means having Luongo. But I agree, I would like to see Roenick back in a Flyer's uniform. He was quite the character and I still have that image of him in my head when he scored the OT winner against T.O last year and him prancing like a little girl. One of my happiest moments. | | | | do-nothing Hiver

| I hope not... I think we'd have to give up too much for Luongo... besides, Nitty is playing well and he'll be a nice tandem with Esche once he gets completely healthy... Richards is great... scrappy and fast... Clark better not get rid of him | | | | Member Join Date: Jan 2006 Posts: 95

| Have heard more grumblings " north of the border " that Clarkie is looking into acquiring a Florida netminder. I do not know if this meant Luongo or one of the duo in TB. Perhaps the Sim Deal was a precursor for things to come. . . | | | | Senior Member

| well, at times like these, I just hope something shakes these guys up.. whether it be a trade for Luongo, (which I wouldn't mind at all), or something else..
Richards is on an 8 game pointless slump, Carter really hasn't done much either.. Perhaps a pick, packaged with one of our goalies.. and a rookie to Florida for the games best goalie? | | | | Member Join Date: Jan 2006 Posts: 95

| who said anything about renting him out? Why not sign him for a long-term deal? I don't think he'd be demanding anything more than what Florida offered him. It seems to me Luongo is sick of being on a losing team and would probably like being on the winning side for once, (even though you can't really call us a winning team right about now), we'll see... | | | | Section 212

| He just turned down a long term deal with florida. I think its going to cost to much money to keep him here and we would have to get rid of some good players we cant afford

| From what I've heard, Keenan isn't going to do anything with Luongo until the end of the season. I think it's become sort of personal battle between those two. I think Keenan would be stupid not to get something in return for Luongo in a trade but Luongo knows that he'll hit bank BIG TIME in the free agent market. It makes more sense for him to wait Keenan out and see the money teams throw at him.
In the end, I really don't see Clark making this move. It doesn't fit in our cap space and would be likely in general.

Maybe we still have a chance!

| . . . for what it's worth,
Tonight on The Fan 590 ( Toronto's Sports Radio ) Elliotte Friedman from Hockey Night in Canada was quoted as saying, " I was talking to Bobby Clarke last week when the subject of Roberto Luongo came up and Clarke smiled and said, " I love Luongo". Friedman went on to say how he wouldn't be surprised if something ( a trade ) were to take place. | | | | do-nothing Hiver

| man, Clarkie's famous for talkin trash... what he really LOVES is keeping people guessing... I've never seen him telegraph a trade... at least, no recently... I put about zero faith in him pulling that deal (though, I wouldn't cry if he disappointed me)
