Defenseman Rob Blake will be sidelined indefinitely with a hairline fracture in his lower left leg.
?Rob underwent medical testing yesterday, confirming that he has a hairline fracture in his lower left leg, which will result in him being out for an indefinite period of time,? said Head Athletic Trainer Pat Karns. ?This time missed will allow for the leg to completely heal.?
In a related move, defenseman Brett Clark was recalled from Colorado?s American Hockey League affiliate, the Hershey Bears.
This marks the fourth recall of the season for Clark, who was previously recalled on November 9, November 30, and February 5. He has played in one game with the Avalanche this season, that being on November 11 at San Jose.
Clark, 26, has notched eight goals and 16 assists for 24 points in 50 games played with the Bears to date. He is the leader among Hershey defenders for goals scored and second in assists and points.
The six-foot, 195-pound native of Wapella, Saskatchewan has played in 163 consecutive games with the Hershey Bears and led all Hershey defensemen in scoring last season (8g/27a), establishing minor pro highs for assists and points.
