He's a Forsberg caliber player in the sense that he makes everyone dangerous when he's on the ice. So, his defensive skills aren't the best, but still. At least we have a high-powered offense man there. | I don't think Forsberg (when healthy) and Briere are anywhere near comparable, in any sense.

More or less just saying that Danny makes everyone a weapon as does Forsberg. Nobody can pass like Forsberg. I'm sure of it. But, Danny can find those little holes and put the puck on a stick.
Aaaand, at this point, I think RJ's going to develop into a better passer than Danny is, anyway. So, whatever. | | | | Village Jackass

| Richie Holmgren is a god in my opinion. to be able to solidify our lineup for years to come and key acquisitions like Biron, Timonen, and Briere, he has proved that he is on of the best at his jobs.
Not only this, but now we have Richards for his entire career!? This is amazing. Now all we need is for our draft picks to start showing that they are ready to come play with the big boys. JVR needs to put up numbers like he did for the national team. Until I see these types of numbers, he will be known as the guy that was taken after Kane.
As for Carter and Umberger, I would wait until the end of the year for any type of contract extension to take place. If they both keep their game at this level all year, long term deals are necessary. Unless freeing up cap space for Ovechkin. (completely kidding her guys)
But i am seriously happy as to teh direction our club is heading. | | | | Newbee

| Great move by Holmgren. He is the player of the future for this team. He plays well in all three zones and is a very smart player. Still has the time and potential to become an elite player in the league. As for Carter and Umberger I'd love to see them back. With Richards, Carter, and Umberger that is three solid centers of the future. All play semi-different styles which is nice. | | | | Let's go Flyers.

If the cap hit were the real money the player received then a team could hypothetically front load a contract to look something like 10-10-10-10-1-1-1 and cut the player after 4 years and have only had a cap hit in each of those 4 years of $6M (not the $10M the player received).
A lot more good info on the cap can be found at nhlnumbers.com | | | | | | |
