Philadelphia Inquirer (may require login) there was an interesting article by Tim Panaccio regarding the FLYERS obtaining Scott Neidermayer from the NJ Devils.
Yes, you read that correctly.
The Flyers are apparently willing to pay the luxury tax required should signing Neidermayer put them over the yet to be disclosed Salary Cap. Of course I'd love to see an all-star caliber defenseman like Niedermayer in the lineup. What I find most interesting is that the Flyers are so committed to winning that they will take the hit on the luxury tax.
Panaccio goes on to point out that Neidermayer is ready to move on, considering he's spent his entire career in NJ and has butted heads with Devils GM Lou Lamorello. Apparently, Neidermayer has felt unappreciated in NJ...
...what better place than Philly to show the Devils how valuable he is.
