| Flyers "Meet the Team" - 1/17/08 Anyone go to this? I got a ton of autographs. I spoke at length with Umby - he remembered the interview I did with him last spring.
I also spoke briefly with Mike Richards. Not much was said - I mentioned the VMR campaign to him and he thanked me. I've come to the conclusion that he really isn't a "people person".
Downie is the man. My brother and I talked to him. Upshall is a funny guy. He had love notes all over the signing table. Jason Smith is a great guy to talk to. He asked me about my kids, I had him sign the photo of us that was on the Flyers website. Knuble is a good guy too.
Overall it was a good event. Lines were crazy for some players, but it was good to get out and meet the team instead of interviewing just one player. I'll post some photos soon.
Oh, yeah, and the 10' stilt clowngirl hit on Brett.
Discuss...

| I had an absolute blast at this thing.
One highlight was definitely getting to meet Steve Downie. This kid is no bigger than 5'9" but you can just tell by looking into his eyes that there is just something not right up there. I've never seen grown men exhibit such fondness towards another male.
The best part of the whole night was the autograph signing logistics of the Marketing Department for the Flyers. To this I give them the utmost credit. They placed the biggest scrubs on the team with the most popular players as so the lines wouldn't be really long. This resulted in tables of Danny Briere/Jim Dowd, Simon Gagne/Dennis Tolepeko, Mike Richards/Ryan Fitzpatrick. etc. While this did decrease the wait time to meet your favorite players, it also added great entertainment for me to watch people struggle with trying to "guess who's sitting next to Briere ... Gagne ... etc.". Although they were sitting right next to each other, people would either blatently bypass the scrubs and move over to stars with their jerseys to sign or would pull an infamous Mr. Sam Evans move and mumble what they THOUGHT his name was while they put their jersey on the table. Ex. "Hi there (softly) Mrble meffylo, it's a pleasure to meet you.".
Good times.

| I wouldn't even know what Rory looked like if I saw him in public.

| Why does Rory's face look like he got into an accident with a cheese grader, as a little kid?
