Andy and I will be interviewing one of the following Flyers tomorrow at the Skate Zone in Voorhees:

• Briere

I managed to hook up with one of the main contacts (name withheld) I had from last year's interview with RJ Umberger, and he welcomed me over. Looks like a grand opportunity for the HIVE to get in with the big guys from here forward.

So, with that being said, post your questions. I'll print them out and bring them with me, along with my camera.

Does coming from a team (Edmonton) where the fans are really intense and keep a close eye on you, to another, similar, passionate hockey city, add any extra pressure for you to perform after a disappointing 06-07 campaign?

Anybody on that list can really answer this...

From your experience with this team or any previous team, if a powerplay unit really struggles for an extended time, what changes come about, if any? Is there a point where the tactics, strategies and maybe personnel that have fizzled in the past are thrown out and a fresh approach is taken?


Obviously not a real knock on anyone but the Flyers PP has had a rough time the last few years and hopefully the changes made this offseason will remedy the situation.


Also, from what you have seen thus far in training camp, what can you say about the young players in the Flyers system, such as Steve Downie, Claude Giroux, Ryan Parent, etc?

Wow. Awesome day, thanks for having me, Drew.

We got there, chilled in the media room for a little bit, watched the Flyers practice a little, and then we went down to ice level and took some photos. (Should have some great shots coming. I got one with Briere. )

While we were in the media room, we shared some conversation with the likes of Tim Panaccio, and the voice of the Flyers radio (god, I can't remember his name. ) I witnessed first hand as Tim visited the Flyers Hive from his laptop. He mentioned that he enjoyed some of the things he saw.

Of course, I didn't come back here empty handed without some of my Panaccio rumors.

Today, Kimmo Timonen ran into Niittymaki during a suicide skating drill, and injured his groin. Trainers say that Timonen is alright, but we all know how groin injuries can plague a player....

Also, Panaccio is reporting that Jim Dowd has been cut from the Flyers.
Aaaaaand, at Drew's request, Robert Esche is VERY close to signing with the New York Rangers.
