| Flyers Goaltending With the recent injury woes, my main topic here being Robert Esche and his injury, who would you most like to see between the pipes for Philly? I know Nitty has been playing pretty sweet lately and sure, this could hold up until Esche comes back, but who would you like to see. I'm just scared they'll have no choice but to put Storr in net one of these days because of the back to back road games which are a killer.
My vote is split between Olaf Kolzig and Roberto Luongo.
Sure they're both expensive, but I think letting go of either Richards or Carter to stay under the cap would be worthwile for a goalie of their caliber. Can you imagine having Luongo or Kolzig play in front of Phillies defence and not seeing 40+ shots a game??? | | | | Let's go Flyers.

| Come on, people... This is LUONGO we're talking about. Arguably the best goalie in the league, and he's only 26. As good as Niittymaki's gonna be, he can't get much better than Luongo. As good as Richards or Carter will be, they won't provide the spectacular goaltending Luongo guarantees, which always proves to be the difference.
However, he doesn't appear to be on the market, so there's no real point talking about this.

| How can a player of Luongos caliber even compare. And no, I wasn't speaking of getting rid of Nitty. One of you mentioned getting rid of Esche and Richards and some picks, which makes a hell of a lot of sense. However, I wouldn't go as far as to give up that much talent if we didn't all know Luongo can carry a whole damn team on his back. | | | | Senior Member

| Do you think Antero Nittymaki will become fatigued in this current road trip and we'll have to play Storr?? He's holding up quite well, playing every other day. | | | | No Longer Embarrased

| So far so good, but even if they give Storr a game, I wouldn't worry too much. Storr's a pretty solid goalie who has racked up some pretty solid stats.

| Not like he's going to be playing, but I saw Houle play here the other day, and he looked fantastic. He stopped a few breakaways and carried the Phantoms.

| I know about Houle. Seen him play a few times this year. But then again, how would he do at the NHL level? | | | | Forum Enforcer, Wallpaper Designer

| Nitty has done well , hopefulyl Esche can come back I would only make a deal for a goalie if Esche can't play again this season, as far as Storr goes he may get a game in during this road trip to give Nitty a break
