It's great that we hit 400, but only 76 of those are "active members". Meaning? We have 324 members who registered and never contributed ONE post.

Freeloaders just registering so they can download stuff.

Drew - I say we make it so that in order to gain access to the download section, a small monetary contribution must be made. (All current registered members won't have to do this)

I know a lot of vBulletin sites that do this.

Think of it - $5 per "Premier Membership" x 100 members (if we get to 500) makes $500 for the Hive & its future endeavors / upgrades. Or maybe just take it and have a big ole Hive Playoff Party every year. :gig:

I like the 1st Idea alot better , so many memebers here have never posted a single thing , besides I can't quite afford to pay the $ 29,580 that my sig would equal as of this post , if I had that kind of money , I'd supply a Suite at the big bank building.

True, but like Rob said, it would stop the freeloaders. That AND it would allow some $ for some kickin' improvements!! Not that we need any more....

There's always room for Improvement , just think of what else could be made available with some funds , Video , Audio , better Hive Chat Box , nite out for lucky members at a flyers game , the possibilties are endless on all the stuff that could be found here. :gig:

So I propose this:

There are 3 ways to become a Premier Member.

The first is to have 100 posts (legit posts).

The second is to buy anything from the Hive Store (once it's up)

The third, a $5 contribution via PayPal.

With our new affiliation with BSB.com (nice job Drew) perhaps we could work a deal with them where a $XX donation gets you membership to both sites for XX amount of months.

Just ideas...

I like that idea better. That will help the longstanding members out here. Besides, I think most of us regulars are interested in Hive gear. I know I am anxiuosly waiting.
