| Football Frenzy Football, not only in the Delaware Valley, is huge and a rather large topic of discussion for half the population of this country when in season. The HIVE is providing you with a place to voice your opinions on the game. | | GTS Manager

| Wouldn't be football season in Philadelphia without drama... Since the end of July, we have seen Shawn Andrews miss most of training camp while battling depression, Lito Sheppard and Brian Westbrook both come to camp unhappy with their contracts, and now it has gotten worse.
On the first play of last Thursdays preseason game with Carolina, wideout Reggie Brown pulled his hamstring and is questionable for the September 7th season opener versus St. Louis. Today we learned that in the same game, opposite wideout Kevin Curtis developed a sports hernia and is out indefinatly. He will undergo surgery tomorrow.
If the Eagle's wideouts were not questionable enough, our depth chart now places rookie DeSean Jackson and veteran Greg Lewis on the flanks, with Hank Baskett rotating in. Jason Avant is next in line.
There are rumors, even before the injury to Curtis, that the Eagles were inquiring about disgrunted Arizona Cardinal wideout Anquan Boldin. Boldin, who is not speaking to coach Ken Whisenhunt since he feels betrayed in contract negotiations, has said he is open to playing in Philadelphia. Dallas and Tampa Bay are also interested in Boldin.

| Oh christ.
I had no idea this even happened. Maybe I should update my fantasy team, now.
Ugh, Curtis?! Come on, Philadelphia. Stop with the jinxing.
At least my boy Baskett will get more time to shine. | | | | This Space for Rent Join Date: Sep 2003 Posts: 2,298

| Eagles? Pfff. GO BRONCOS!
I'd to see Avant get some time though. He was good at Michigan and has real good hands. | | | | HAI

| Baskett is a scrub, he's not going to amount to anything. Avant's good, I like him.
The whole Shawn Andrews saga pissed me off. How you can be depressed while getting paid millions of dollars to be a fat lineman is beyond me.
I hate the NFL. Too much pissing and moaning.

However, there's a time and place for celebration. 4th and 26, go ahead and celebrate. A NY Giant doing the fadeaway after a sack in the 4th quarter while losing by double digits? As good of football players that Chad Johnson, Terrell Owens, and even Hines Ward are, the celebrations are unnecessary. They should be saved for out of shape guys like us playing in the backyard.
