Default A look back through the Flyers of the 90's.

MetalFlyer posted this over on the DMD boards, and I liked it enough to bring it over here. So, props to him.

These bring back great childhood memories. A lot of the clips themselves aren't so exciting, but it's amazing how far TV has come and how old some of us will feel when looking at these...

So. Who here remembers PRISM?
I had to beg my dad to add it to our cable package.
He finally did it when he got tired of taking me to my friend's house for every Flyers game.

Good lord... the 90's.
What a roller coaster that decade was for us. From the 93-94 season's horror show (Roussel and Soderstrom as the goaltending platoon), then picking up the Big E (E for ERROR)... The years when Captain Cottonhead wreaked havoc on the rest of the league, then the years when he was seemingly sabotaging his own team (anything after his Cup finals collapse vs Detroit), all the way to the brilliant run in '99 (BOOOOSH!) only to end in tragedy... clawing back from a 3-1 series deficit against NJ to lose Game 7...

Thank God that decade is done with... not that the 2000's have been that much better though. Bring back the 70's!

If we never traded Foppa for Lindros, would we have won a cup by now?

Forsberg dominated offensively and was a force to be reckoned with physically, not to mention playing like a beast in just about every playoff game he was in. Lindros was the offensive and physical leader of the Flyers. Then he went all soft and gun shy after he collapsed his lung in Nashville, never been the same since.
Forsberg, while battling injuries, never backed down from physical play and remains one of the strongest players on the puck that I've ever seen.

So to answer your question... Yes, yes we almost certainly would have.
Lindros dreams of holding Forsberg's cup some day...
