| Interesting stuff My parents have a house down LBI and are good friends with Keith Allen & his wife, Joyce. (For those of you who do not know, Keith is in both the NHL hall of fame, and the Flyers hall of fame & was the GM of the Stanley Cup teams)
Unfortunately, I did not go to LBI this weekend, but my dad tells me Keith had the following observations:
:toothless Robert Esche is going to be the #1 goalie. Maybe not at the start, but he believes the guy has some talent & will eventually win the starting job.
:toothless The Flyers will have one of the best, youngest teams in the NHL in 3-5 years. He believes that there are at a few young kids who are going to be superstars.
:toothless Joni Pitkanen is the real deal. He is going to be a fun player to watch.
:toothless He never would have believed it would have gone this long between Stanley Cups.
As a sidenote: I have been lucky enough to be around Keith on many occasions. Perhaps the funniest moment was during the 1997 World Cup, USA vs Canada - we were watching the game in a bar down LBI. He left for a second, and when he did Team USA scored. When he came back he asked "What happened?". I exclaimed "WE SCORED!!!". I couldn't figure out why he wasn't excited...
...on the drive home I remembered: Keith is Canadian. | | | | Forum Enforcer, Wallpaper Designer

| I think if Drew was on the Flyers, then we'd definitely have an insider. | | | | Humbug.

Great story, makes me think of the old days working at FI on LBI when Mark and Gordie how used to come in with the kids. I remember being amazed at how massive there legs were. At least I got a couple of autographs.

| Last year, my supervisor met Brian Propp and he got an autographed glossy for me. I thought that was pretty cool. | | | | Senior Member Join Date: Aug 2003 Posts: 186

| Yeah, I think a lot of you guys have heard the connection between my mom and Keith Primeau's wife during charity work and that I have met Keith personally, two times.
That's always why I have been the resident Primeau supporter when everyone is down.
