| I also like the Metropolit signing, he always seemed to be a thorn in our side no matter what team he was on.
He's a solid 20-30 point guy who should fit in pretty well on our third line. | | | | Village Jackass

| Metropolit blows.. I'd rather go bobbing for turds in Shaq's toilet, then have him on the Flyers.

Ruzicka to Russia
Restricted free agent Stefan Ruzicka has signed a contract with Spartak Moscow of the Continental Hockey League. The Flyers, who made a qualifying offer to Ruzicka last week, retain his NHL rights.
Ruzicka has developed slowly as a pro and his window window of opportunity to earn a regular NHL spot on the Flyers closed. At 23, he's a decent, but far from spectacular, offensive player in the AHL and a marginal NHLer. He needs a change of scenery, although more than anything else he needs to realize that he's not talented enough to succeed at hockey's top level on his talent alone. He wasn't consistent enough offensively to play on a scoring line and, while improved defensively, not a natural checking liner, either.
Ruzicka's fellow Slovak and former Flyer Branko Radivojevic also signed with Spartak after playing the last two seasons with the Minnesota Wild.

| Moves The team will be fine, signing Jones was a good move and overall the team will be fine. Free agency is so overrated no one has strenghened themselves (other then Detroit) so much so that the balance of power in the east has changed at all.

| Ruzicka - Good riddance. Never liked him, don't think he was ever going to be a viable NHL player at all.
As for getting Bouwmeester. There's also something we're forgetting. Even if we do move the necessary assets (Lupul, Knuble?, JVR/Giroux, 1st rounder) we'd still have to find the cap space to get him under contract, as we would only be trading for his rights. So in essence, we'd lose whatever we traded for him PLUS whatever player we had to shed salary in (Hatcher, Jones PLEASE!).
At the end of the day, I'd really like to have Bouwmeester as I think he's primed for a breakout year leading into a solid NHL career, but someone like Meszaros might come cheaper in assets and salary. | | | | Philly Chica/Hive Mommy

| Yeah, I DONT think its a good move to try for Bouwmeester. If we'd have to sacrifice soo much for a guy like him then fuck it! We're better off with the guys we've got now...
