Claude Giroux will make his debut for the Flyers tomorrow evening against the Senators.
It could be just what the team needs. Giroux is hotter than hot right now, scoring 12 points in the last three games for gatineau in the Q.

| This kid is the real deal. I met him at camp when I interviewed Marty.
I'm shocked he's being called up though.

| Now Eklund is saying they might not beable to bring him up.. He said the Flyers are working on it, something about the rules of calling up a Jr player in an emergency situation...
Why would Eklund CONFIRM something, that he's not 100% sure about..
I think we should assassinate him for all his bullshit that never pans out..

| You can do call ups on an emergency basis. Though I don't know how it works. Columbus did it twice with Steve Mason (goalie, London Knights) when Leclaire went down with injuries.
In any sense this may be what we need. But I can't see him getting a ton of ice time. | | | | i probably hate you

| With the numbers he has put up in his past few games, it wouldn't hurt to try him out.
He's got skill, I'd like to see the kid play.

| i know this is a very very crazy thought but maybe they are playing him to show other teams his skills for a possible trade. | | | | Village Jackass

Why show him off in his 1st nhl game?? he's gonna need time to adjust.. this would be the worst way to show him off for a trade.. He's playing cause they need him and he's the best option at this point

No way in hell he's showcasing him. If anything, Homer's desire to see this kid on the big team is showing right now by reaching into juniors to give him a little seasoning when the opportunity (due to injuries) is available.
He could possibly be giving him a try out to see if he can fill a hole left by a player soon to be traded.
Either way, barring some monumental collapse of mental judgement on Homer's part, Giroux is his boy and will be treated as such. Get used to the name. | | | | | Thanked by: | Drew (February 19th, 2008) | Making Stains Since '85
