Hi guys...
It was not many Russian players in Flyers history.Of cause,some of them was not very good,but the guys like Yushkevich,very strong players.Why the Flyers not have sing Dmitriy on the next season?It's a big question for me...Tell me guys,he was not good in last games of the season and playoff?May be I think,that he played good,but he mades a mistakes in defend?
You know,Russia has a lot of Flyers fans.You'll not believe me,if I'll say how much.Much more,than other NHL teams.And all Flyers fans in Russia began to think,that Bobby Clarke not likes Russian players,and he doesn't sing them...
What can you tell about it?

All I can say is I don't know. Clarke has made a few moves I don't understand but, last I checked, we do have the rights to the following players in the Russian Hockey league:

Konstantin Baranov (RW) - OMSK
Alexander Drozdetsky (RW) - CSKA
Andrei Razin (C) - Dynamo
Konstantin Rudenko (LW) - Yaroslavl

Good point. MANY people have that opinion of Clarkie. NOT just Russians, but Europeans too. I'm anxious to see how things go with Pitkanen. Clarke cut the fuse short with Niniimaa. I hope he doesn't do it with him.

In my opinion, he has to get past his 70's Broad Street Bullies mentality of US vs. THEM (the Russians). He's a bumbling idiot if he still believes in that crap.

I hope Clarkie see's that the time have changed , and gives the internatinal players a chance , look at the other Great Teams in the NHL , they all have at least One great player from other countys not attached to North America

Peter Forsberg - Colorado , once property of the flyers , is from sweden

Dominik Hasek- Red Wings , ok so he just came out of retirement , but he is still considered one of the best ever and he is from Czechoslovakia

Sergei Fedorov - Ducks , ok his first year in Disneyland , but he is from Pskov, USSR

Ottawa has 7 players from Czechoslovakia alone

Patrik Elias N.J. is from Trebic, Czechoslovakia

as for the flyers active roster

Michal Handzus - Banska Bystrica, Czechoslovakia

Sami Kapanen - Vantae, Finland

Radovan Somik - Martin, Czechoslovakia

Kim Johnsson - Malmo, Sweden
