The Philadelphia Flyers have won their second straight preseason game in two nights as they rolled over the Washington Capitals 2-0 at the John Labatt Centre in London,Ontario. The Flyers stepped onto the ice Saturday with last night's win over the defending champion New Jersey Devils fresh in their minds.
As for the game, Dennis Seidenberg opened the scoring at 19:46 of the first period with Joni Pitakanen picking up the assist. In the second period, Michal Handzus slid the puck past ollie the goalie which would be relieved later in that period. Micheal Nylander scored late in the second period cutting the Flyer lead to 2-1. As for the third and final period of the game, Radovan Somik scored a goal at the 8:32 mark with Sami Kapenen and Dennis Seidenburg picked up the assists. With one second remaining on the clock the Washington Capitals made the score 4-2 with a goal by Brian Sotherby.
Other Game Notes:
Jaromir Jagr racked up two assists for the Washington Capitals in the game.
The Flyers outshot the Caps 28-23 in the game.
The Flyers play the next preseason game will be played at the Soverign Bank Arena in Trenton,NJ against the New Jersey Devils on Tuesday.
The Flyers will hold regular practices this week open to the public in Vorhees.
