In the third period, Radovan Somik picked up his first goal of the preseason on the power play at 8:32, as Seidenberg and Sami Kapanen assisted. After a Justin Williams goal made it 4-1 in favor of the Flyers, a goal by Washington?s Brian Sotherby at 19:59 capped the scoring.
Jaromir Jagr registered two assists for the Capitals.
Philadelphia outshot Washington for the game, 28-23.
The Flyers? next game will once again be at a neutral site, as they face New Jersey at the Sovereign Bank Arena in Trenton, New Jersey.
