| Giroux, Van Riemsdyk Have Bright Futures Here's a great article I found on NHL.com about several Flyers' Prospects. http://www.nhl.com/nhl/app?articleid...e&service=page
I'd post it but I it was over a 10,000 character limit for the boards | | | | Thoresen dropper NHL-spil

| After Giroux and Riemer, the players that I think have the most potential to make an impact in the league are. Andreas Nodl, Patrick Maroon, Marc Andre Bourdon (MAYBE), Sbisa and Deserres.
The top 3 out of the names I mentioned will be Nodl, Maroon, and Sbisa.

The top 3 out of the names I mentioned will be Nodl, Maroon, and Sbisa. | Nodl was great at St. Cloud, but he struggled a little in his time with the Phantoms. He really needs to find some consistent scoring touch to take that next step to being a really good prospect. I agree he has great upside as a 2nd line scorer, but he's got a lot of work to do to reach it.
Everybody's so high on Maroon but it's easy to fall into the pit of looking at his offensive stats and seeing big offensive potential. Keep in mind he played alongside the likes of Patrick Kane, Sam Gagner and Sergei Kostitsyn. He's got tons of talent, but his skating and conditioning need to get alot better to find real success at the NHL level.
Thus far, Sbisa's looked good playing in the Swiss League. He has a bit of an advantage because he's playing against men whereas other kids come and play junior hockey against other kids their age.
Bourdon's skating is awful, but his mind for the offensive side of the game is sharp as a tack. He's got to work on his skating alot. If he receives the right guidance in terms of improving his defensive game, he could be a little bit bigger version of J-M Liles, who I wanted to see in a Flyers jersey anyways.
The jury's still out on our goalie prospects, including DeSerres. We really don't have a blue-chipper that we can throw into the ranks after guys like Biron and Niittymaki clear the system. At this point, we're either in the trade market to get a bona fide young potential starter or we're in the mindset of throwing handfuls of shit at a wall and seeing which ones stick. | | | | Member
