| Jesse Boulerice ??? Sorry but I need to vent ....
Is anyone else tired of seeing this worthless piece of trash in a Flyers uniform ??
Why, when this team is having problems scoring goals, is Stevens bringing in talentless Boulerice who has done noting but hurt this team TIME AFTER TIME AFTER TIME when there is young scoring talent down on the Phantoms.
I am SO Tired of watching this guy be on the ice for less than a minute and hurt this team with a mindless play that turns into a power play goal for the OTHER team.
I thought I'd NEVER route for a Flyer to ever lose a fight but found myself routing for, of ALL POSSIBLE options A NY freagin Ranger !
There have to be more Flyers fans who see the same things I am !!! | | | | Senior Member

Yeah I know what you mean. But being in the system, I see how things work a lot differently. There's so much that goes on within teams that is beyond a coach's control, beyond a gm's control...and you never hear about it. Thats just the way it is
And...you just get to see him on the bench or at a press conference. You dont get to see what he's like in the locker room. Who's to say he has no emotion when you dont know unless you were there. And I know for a fact the nhl wants to keep a certain level of etiquette on the bench and in the press, think about it

I don't buy it. A coach needs to show some damn emotion on the bench. As a player, I thrived off of my coaches sweating it out. Bring in Pat Burns. Or that professional wrestler guy Mr. Vaisburg who used to coach the old NAC Penguins. I think he had a bounty on me.

| Drewsky and I have been on the same train of thought for I don't know how long. Stevens was okay as an interim guy for a lost season. Bringing in young guys and allowing them to make mistakes and learn from them.
Well, this year is different. We're contending for a playoff spot and every point in the standings, every goal, every line change, every defensive breakdown, every broken pass counts. These guys need a coach who's going to instill the fear of god into them and inspire them to rise above the injuries or bad calls or whatever and play their absolute best on every shift. Stevens doesn't do that. Ever. A good coach would be preparing his team for every game with video. A good coach would be practising elements considered as a team's weak point (shootouts, breakouts, moveouts, defending odd-man breaks, etc). A good coach would be helping Briere find ways to break out of a slump or at least putting him with hot-handed players.
Pat Burns is sitting on his ass collecting a paycheck from the Devils for doing. He's probably sitting at home polishing his Adams trophies, waiting for a team to call with a job offer. Why the Flyers are still sticking with a middling, mediocre-at-best coach is beyond me.
I understand what JBEGG is saying, that alot of the responsibility is on the players heads as well, but we're still a relatively young team and those guys need direction from a professional that KNOWS how to get the best out of his players. Stevens is anything but. Every win this team puts up, I'm convinced, is IN SPITE of Stevens and not BECAUSE of him. | | | | Newbee Join Date: Jan 2008 Posts: 6

| I completely agree Blindside. How many seasons do we have to sit and watch these guys make mediocre goalies look like Patrick Roy. It's like they are being taught to shoot for the symbol on every goalie's jersey. That comes from coaching and what is gone over at practices. And, I'm sorry but, the answer to the other team scored, we need a jump, is not Put out the goons and get soem energy in the new NHL. GO SCORE AND GET THE POINTS BACK !!
