| Ruzicka - trouble child? From Philly.com
Coach John Stevens benched right winger Stefan Ruzicka at practice for an "internal discipline matter," then put him through a long shooting workout with assistant coach Craig Berube after the practice. He also had Ruzicka do some skating before practice. Ruzicka admitted he skipped a mandatory postgame bike ride after not dressing for the Islanders game. He was a healthy scratch in Carolina as well. He had to ride the bike yesterday afternoon, too. "There is a standard here that needs to be met," Stevens said.
-----------------------
There have been a couple reports about this. While this should be a golden opportunity for Ruz to get some quality ice time, it seems his attitude and poor work ethic has kept him on the bench. This kid has tons of talent and I'd like to see him flourish... hopefully he can pull it together and show us what he's got.

| well hopefully he gets the message that Stevens is trying to send, He has looked pretty good when on the Ice, would hate to see him not do everything he can to further his development

| He's trade bait in my eyes. Not quite as bad as Brendl, but certainly those that lack work ethic and that drive to succeed are not going to be highly productive in the NHL. I'd dangle him to see if we can snag a young defender or a decent pick for him (2nd or 3rd). | | | | Senior Member

| I agree blind, this guy actually does remind me somewhat of Brendl. Both have the potential to be even a 2nd line winger but that work ethic brings them down. Speaking of Brendl, he just got named player of the month in Europe, (Swedish League). | | | | HAI

| I like Stevens laying down the law here, good to see that he's trying to establish a backbone of discipline on this team.
It's imperative to do this with such a young team. | | | | do-nothing Hiver

| problem is, Ruzi has still been invisible (actually, I'm not even sure he's still up with the big club right now)
