| How many more D can we lose? The loss of Kimmo was hard enough now we have to loss Coburn. I certainly hope he is ok. There wasn't anything reported on the VS broadcast aside from the obvious. If anyone hears of anything be sure to post it.
Now to thoughts on the game. I thought we played a solid game in parts but we are still having lapses in our own zone that ends up costing us. The third goal was a perfect example. The hitting and intensity is certainly picking up and I think this is good for the Flyers. I think the feeling I have right now is just down right disappointment. I had a strong feeling they were going to pull a win out of Pittsburgh in the first set. This really makes game three that much more important.
Richards has been the best player in this series and he needs help or else we are all going golfing soon... | | | | Philly Chica/Hive Mommy

| I agree... a huge disappiontment. But I feel like the refs were partly to blame this time. Most of those goals were during BS power plays and there were SOO many times that the Penguins should have had penalties called. The only thing that went our way was that goal that wasnt called. But we shall see next game... I still have faith. Our team is still better overal!! | | | | This Space for Rent Join Date: Sep 2003 Posts: 2,161

| Terrible officiating. But that's not what made us lose this game. A few bounces that go our way, and this game is a different story. | | | | I no need no phone.

| It's just unlucky bro. Something like losing our top dmen over the circumstances they've been handed is just pure unluck. Sad, because with them in the lineup I am certain this series wouldn't be 2-0 Pitt. Quote:

Watch the sequence of that play. If Modry was in position and not coasting around like a pee-wee player, it would be a non-factor. What about the crushing hits Downie delivered all night?
I still don't understand why Modry is playing over Parent. Let the kid get some experience over Modry, who wont even be a Flyer next season for chrissakes. Makes no sense whatsoever.

| I agree on both parts mostly. I haven't liked the Modry aquisition since the day that it happened. He hasn't had a good game yet. I agree, Get Parent in !!
As far as Downie goes, I don't blame him but he really doesn't belong in there right now and Stevens comment after the game "he's still finding his game" ...
Well, I'm not sure if you realize this John, it's the Eastern Conference Finals, not mid season. You don't put a kid that is still trying to "find his game" in at this point in time.

| I thought the flyers played a great game with a few flaws such as that third goal. Don't loose faith in the flyers they are down but not out and they will prove that with a win tomorrow. Flyers win the series 4-2

| I think we can all agree that this series has a lot of bad breaks going against us. The only example of it not was the maybe goal that wasn't allowed. You could have speculated that it was a goal but there was no way we could see it in the net... anyway, Parent definitely needs to play over Modry but that isn't going to be an option. Both of those guys are going tonight and are going to need to step it up. My question is why not move Kapanen back to d and insert Parent. Then you could bring back Thoresen or Cote to play on the fourth line with Downie. This maybe the lesser of two evils with the play of Modry.
Either way this is a critical game tonight but the Flyers are done and they pull out a 3-2 victory. | | | | Member

| Big news on the loss of Timonen and Coburn.
The latest scuttlebut is that both players could be back in the lineup on Sunday. Kimmo is supposed to skate today to test out the ankle/foot and if it is fine to go then he plays. Coburn was close to playing last night and I don't see how he doesn't play on Sunday.
With these two potentially back in the lineup we could offset the energy in the Igloo. This could be only the second good news we have had in this series.
My only concern is does the layoff affect both players... I don't think it will have an impact and they are good enough to overcome that affect to still outperform their current replacements. | | | | Thoresen dropper NHL-spil

| I'd rather have both of them playing at 25% than not have them in the lineup at all. This could be HUGE.
