| Kop said it best. Philadelphia is a "what have you done for me lately" crowd. I don't care if JRoll goes 3 for 4 with two rbi's in a 12-2 win. If he grounds out in a game ending double play the next night while down 4-3, he is going to get booed. Deal with it and produce when it matters.

| Whether Rollins called the fans front-runners or not, and whether you think he's right or wrong, the man has a valid point.
Most Philadelphia fans are extremely biased and have one way of thinking - winning. We'll take Danny Briere for a perfect example. Last year when Briere was struggling, 90% of Flyers fans were on his back because he wasn't playing up to his full potential. The fans who actually have sports experience understood that he was going through a hard time and still applauded him for his effort and didn't boo him everytime he touched the puck like some others did.
It's the same way with baseball and any other sport. I support the occasional boo when a 10 million dollar player is consistently striking out for half of a season, but when a player is on a little bit of a cold streak, I don't support getting on their back. Has my opinion on Rollins changed? No. I respect him more because he spoke out about something that was clearly bothering him.

| Andy, I understand where you're comming from and agree on most fronts. However, I DONT support a player when his stupid mistake - for not hustling, letting a routine ground ball pass, missing an empty net 10 feet from it, showboating, taking a stupid penalty, and playing like you dont give a shit cuz your getting a 58 million dollar paycheck - screws the game for not only your team, but for your fans that will pay $300 on Ebay just to watch your sorry ass play, because your supposed to be the cats ass.
If im (and 20,000 other fans are) paying $50 per seat, all decked out in fan gear, and usually painted the appropriate colors, on a night out with my buddies, plus $8 per beer, $6 for a hot dog and I dont even get a free foam finger, I expect to see you TRYING YOUR BEST. I will not boo you if you TRY YOUR BEST. But if you loaf around the bases because you think you hit a home run and it ends up landing in the warning track and you get thrown out becasue you SHOULD have been to second base...well, sir, I boo you. Loud. And then these guys think its a terrible thing that they got Booed. ZOMG! Tehy booed me!!! Thatz the werzt!! Im a pro athlete, how darez they!!!
Well, ass hole, you should have hustled.
Word to my homies.

Word to my homies. | JRoll can handle the boo's. Like I said before, his whole problem was using the word "front-runner". I was reading The Great Philadelphia Fan Book, and it was talking about the "Santa Incident". A funny part of the book talked about how at that time of the season, the Eagles were 2-10 and were playing a game in a stadium that was covered in snow and in freezing temperatures. Want to know how many fans showed up to that game? 57,000+ to watch a team that was 2-10, 2 and freakin' 10. Front runners? Front runners don't spend their Sunday afternoons sitting in snow watching a poor excuse for a football team.
You can either play in this city or you can't. Scott Rolen is a perfect example. One of my favorite players in the 90's, yet was a little bitch when it came to the fans and the media. Besides for a few years in St. Louis, we see how his career has gone since he left. Eric Lindros somewhat even dwindled under the spotlight when leadership was thrown on his shoulders.
The fact we haven't won anything in 25 years matters a lot also.

| I know, but sometimes, the fans are too ignorant and stupid to realize that all the players can't always come up to the plate and hit every at bat.
There is no winning side here. It's just a matter of personal opinion. My opinion on the matter, J-Roll is right. The majority of Philadelphia fans are fair-weather retards who have no idea about anything and just boo because they're nothing seeing the game their way.
Then there's the side of the fan who says, "I pay 50 dollars for a ticket, 3 for a hot dog, 8 for beer," that's your choice. You chose to go and spend your money to watch the players struggle. Not every athlete is consistent. | | | | Village Jackass

There's a difference between an athlete sports fan and a non-athlete sports fan. | And look what happened when the fans finally did boo him. The Sabres shoot out goal game winner happened, and he was on fire the rest of the year. A guy with an 8 million dollar cap hit better produce I do not care who you are, it wasn't like he wasn't doing good from the get go. He started off playing his style of hockey and then sucked for the longest time, got booed and was great again. Thats what we do, it is Philadelphia and that is why players like playing here.
By the way for those of you who still don't know what a front runner is. A front runner is someone who will change favorite teams multiple times throughout the season.
-see yankees and red sox fans for example
The closest thing Philadelphia is to anything is "BANDWAGON" The ones who stop watching and stop going to games because they aren't performing well.
Plus why is booing a bad performance frowned upon by anybody anyway? We are paying money to watch a product, you pay your money if the product is bad... Well, what the f*ck? The last person who should be mad about fans booing are the players, How dare you get on anybody who is willing to pay money to see you play, whether your doing good, or bad?

| And then there's the other side of it: Don't pay the money if the team/player is doing bad. It's your choice.

Stay at home with popcorn, a sofa, and your big screen if you are going to end up complaining anyway. | Who said I go to games to complain? It takes an awful lot for me to boo a player or a team. I mean a lot. At the same time I don't go to the games with a negative attitude, in fact I don't think anybody does. So what was your point?
