If you haven't ever watched the Tour de France, or only know the name Lance Armstrong because of the yellow bracelets, you have one more chance to witness greatness. The Tour will be the last ride of Lance's career, and it starts this Saturday on OLN at 5:00PM ET.

The Tour consists of 21 days of racing, with an average of 100+ miles per day. On the "flats" Lance and his teammates will generally keep with the rest of the "peloton", or main pack. When it comes to the mountains, Lance obliterates his opponents.

Imagine, if you will, having already ridden 1000 miles in the previous 10 days. You've reached the Alps and are now looking at an uphill climb that would make the Manayunk wall look like a speed bump. Your lungs are screaming for air, your legs are on fire. You look next to you and there is Lance Armstrong, 6 time winner, and cancer survivor. He's pedaling like he's going downhill. Mouth closed, breathing out of his nose. There is no apparent exertion. He gives you a quick glance as he passes by, and before long he disappears into the clouds.

That is Lance Armstrong. If you've never seen him race, check out the Tour. Especially the mountain stages which are July 12-14, 16-18. If the past is any indication, it will be those 6 days where Lance will win number 7.

(AND yes, I realize this isn't a hockey related topic... but hey, I'm one of the creators of this site. I'm giving myself permission! :D )

B?ckstedt could win a few stages, but I doubt the GC. I think he won Paris-Roubaix a few years ago.

It's all wrapped up for Lance now, I've turned checked in with OLN as much as I can. Pretty exciting. All Lance has to do is stay on his bike and he's got seven. Unbelievable.
