The Philadelphia Flyers came out with a win Thursday night, but almost blew it in the last 20 minutes of play. Robert Esche had a shutout going into the third period, which seemed like it would hold. But the goal about 12 minutes into the third period surged the Capitals to 'make a game out of it'. It seemed that J.R's goal at 13:11 was going to lift the orange and black to sure victory. Yet again, Washington netted the puck past Esche at 13:52; a goal by Brian Sutherby. The Flyers defence sailed after that goal and led the team to a 4-2 victory over the Caps.
My thoughts on the game:
- The team needs to play the full 60 minutes, this game was almost lost because they didn't do that.
- Robert Esche ALMOST pulled out a shutout and secures that No. 1 spot.
- The team is looking very good lately, but remember the Capitals are not one of the elite NHL teams right now =)
